Joe and Bart were an important part of my grammar school years. The Cranstons lived just a few houses down on Deepwater Lane and we played football, baseball and shot hoops at the telephone pole across from them. It was a street filled with boys of the same age. Jack Smulktis, Bob Klemas. Joey Taylor, Bob Casey, Guy Townsend and my brother Bobby. It was easy to put together a team for any sport. But the Cranstons always stood out. Bart was a natural commander and Joe was a natural. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
