Joyce Irene Chrystal, age 79, passed away at Willowbrook Nursing Home on the morning of September 26, 2022.
Joyce was born November 5th, 1942, in Utica, New York to Helen and Theodore Molling. She grew up in the small town of Utica, where she graduated from Utica Free Academy and worked for the local diner while starting a career with Marine Midland Bank. Afterward she made Delaware, Ohio her permanent home, residing there since 1973, where she raised her family and loved her job as a fundraiser for Ohio Wesleyan University.
She was a woman of many talents and passions, who loved bowling and socializing with her friends at the Moose Club, Amvets, Elks, Eagles and VFW. She was also known to be a savvy and highly skilled card player, as well as an extremely witty and fun-loving person who was always full of energy and had stories to tell. She will be dearly missed by those whose lives she brightened whenever their paths crossed with hers. Some of her favorite things in life were the Delaware Fair, the Brown Jug and to visit Camp Lazarus.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Helen Molling, daughter Margaret Joyce Cabrera and brother Theodore Molling. She is survived by two of her children, Daniel Michael Chrystal and Brigette Ann Barga (Matt), three grandsons, Joseph Paul (John Margaret) Cabrera, Colin Joseph Barga and Jack Matthew Barga, many other loved ones including God daughter Tina Molling, including her aunt Doris Acker and five nieces, the Acker girls.
Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. with service to follow at 6 p.m. on October 5th at Robinson Funeral Home at 32 W. Winter St. in Delaware, Ohio 43015.
