DELAWARE — Robert Earl Beem, 96, of Delaware passed away Friday evening May 9, 2014 at Willowbrook at Delaware Run.
He was born Nov. 1, 1917 in Belle Center, Ohio to the late William Earl Beem and Blanche (Jones) Beem.
Robert graduated from Kenton High School in 1935 and later served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the William Street United Methodist Church in Delaware and a 72 year member of the Sparrow Masonic Lodge #400 in Sunbury earning his 32nd degree. He also was a member of the Aladdin Shrine Temple. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading and playing the stock market.
Left to cherish his memory is daughters Carol (James) Wilson of Delaware and Linda Kluge of Macon, Georgia; son Randy (Susan) Beem of Delaware; step son Douglas (Shirley) Beem of Xenia; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Marjorie Ellen (Poole) Beem on Oct.23, 2010 and a sister Betty Spence.
The family will receive friends Friday May 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware and where Celebration of Life services will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Julie Carmean officiating.
Contributions in Robert's memory may be made to Heartland Hospice of Marion; envelopes available at the funeral home.
