Audrey Leigh Howard

Chincoteague, VA - Audrey Leigh Howard of Chincoteague, VA suddenly passed away at the age of 56 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital on March 30, 2018.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Howard also of Chincoteague, VA. Her mother, Wanda Thornton and step-father, Donald Thornton of Chincoteague, VA. Her step-mother Diane Byrd of Tarrytown, NY. Her sister, Cheryl Merritt and her husband, Steven of Virginia Beach, VA. Her step-brothers Donnie Thornton of Chincoteague, VA and John Neal Thornton of Chincoteague. A step-sister, Roxanne Bowman and her husband, Skip of Chincoteague, VA. Two daughters, Leigha Hamilton and her husband, Anthony of Chincoteague, VA and Katie Fitzgerald and her husband, James of Chincoteague, VA., 5 grandchildren, Adriana Joy Rhodes, Elijah Sharpley, Nathaniel Higgins, and Vivien Hamilton all of Chincoteague, VA, and Kassidy Sharpley of Pocomoke, MD. She also had several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Wallace Byrd.

She was a very loved member of the community and active in her church, the Chincoteague Church of God. She was always willing to extend help to anyone in need. She will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Chincoteague Church of God, with interment to follow at Daisey Cemetery. The Rev. Lebron Palmer will be officiating. Flowers are welcome but in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holly Grove Christian School, 7317 Mennonite Church Rd. Westover, MD 21871.
