Carla Deshera Jones

Salisbury-On December 9th 2014, Carla Deshera Jones departed this life to be with our heavenly father.

Born November 23, 1961 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Hazel E. Jones and the late Harland T. Jones, Sr.

Carla attended school in the Wicomico County Public school system attending the Westside Schools in Quantico and Hebron, respectively, and graduating from James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury.

Having a young daughter to care for, Carla entered the workforce straight out of high school, working for Hecht Company before becoming a optician at Accurate Optical. Looking for a change of pace in 1991, Carla attended the Delmarva Beauty Academy and obtained her cosmetology license. She worked in a few salons for several years before returning to the field of Optometry, once again becoming an optician for Sears Optical, Lenscrafters, and finally Walmart Vision Center before exiting the workforce due to illness.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother Hazel E. Jones of Quantico; her two daughters Shanta Milton of Delmar and Shamara Smith of Salisbury; five grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11am at Bennie Smith Multipurpose Building, with a viewing from 9am to 11am. All services are entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home.

Hazel,
It is with deepest sympathy I acknowledge the loss of your beautiful daughter: Carla. It has been many years since we have spoken but my heart goes out to you and your family. I pray that God will give you strength and comfort you and your family with His wonderous love. May heaven heal your pain speedily and give you to reflect on all the wonderful times you have spent together. Memories are precious, reflect and this will aid you in moving past your grief.
