Stephen Donoway Obituary

Stephen Wayne Donoway, Sr.

Salisbury-Stephen Wayne Donoway, Sr., age 70, of Salisbury, Maryland passed away on Jan. 22, 2014 in Salisbury.

Born on June 25, 1943, the son of the late Louis and Olive Jean Donoway.

Stephen is survived by his wife Lynn Donoway and sons Anthony Wayne Donoway, Sr. and wife Susan, Daniel Donoway and husband Andrew Weaver, Stephen Wayne Donoway, Jr. and a daughter Lacey Jean Begosh and husband Kevin, and stepdaughter Heather Lynn Guy and James. Three sisters, Sheila Elliott and husband Ted, Brenda Lloyd, and Debbie Wood and husband Alan. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, who he adored, and several nieces and nephews.

Stephen was preceded in death by a daughter Stevie Marie Donoway and a brother Michael Allen Donoway.

Mr. Donoway retired from Dresser Industries after 40 years as assembly superintendent. He was also the owner of Bay Country Suzuki Motorcycle shop. He coached softball, baseball and soccer for many years in Wicomico County. He was a member of Sons of American Legion Post 64 and American Legion Riders Chapter 64, where he was past Director of the ALR. He loved to ride motorcycles and riding his Harley with his wife and friends and camping in the RV in Chincoteague.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Powellville VFW, 35481 Mt. Herman Road Pittsville, MD 21850 on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 6:00 pm.

Pittsville, MD. 21850 or Coastal Hospice P.O. Box 1733 Salisbury, MD. 21802.

We worked with Steve for almost 16 years. Steve was a great foreman who was respected by his co workers for his sense of humor and fairness with people. He had patience with even the most inexperienced workers. We are so sorry to hear about him losing his long battle with the horrible disease of cancer.
