Joyce Metzger Obituary
Bath/Geneseo: April 27, 2016 at age 96 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Rudolf Metzger, daughters, June and Friede Metzger, son, David W., grandson, David F., great grandson, David E. Metzger and sister, Ruth Freeman. She is survived by her son, Rev. Paul (Marjorie) Metzger of Cuylerville, 6 grandchildren, Darlene (David) Croston of Binghamton, Darla (Jeffery) Meritt of Nunda, Daniel (Leyla) Metzger of CA, Danielle (Kevin) Dobbins of MD, Debbie (Michael Burrous) Metzger of Honeoye Falls, Deanna (Tom) Van Asperen of Wayland, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 nephew.
Visitation and Reception will be held on Saturday April 30, 2016, from 11 AM - 12 Noon at the Assembly of God Church in Geneseo where Funeral Services will follow visitation at 12 Noon. Private Burial, Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church, 2 Haley Ave., Geneseo, NY 14454. I still think of Joyce frequently. Especially since becoming old enough to eat lunch at the Lakeview dining room- where we met and she trained me in my job. She trained me in SO MANY life skills as a daughter of The King, as well.

Joyce was a lovely friend. I have known her since 1990, when I started work at the senior nutrition site where she was a volunteer. I am so grateful for the kindness and mentoring which she shared with me and many women at Bethel Assembly. I know that she is with Jesus and pray for peace for each of her family.

Allowing me to be part of the family and able to enjoy her company with all of the children and especially during the holidays will always be the best of seasons to be remembered. Condolences to all of the family and know that she will now watch over her loving family giving faith, hope and love to them for the rest of their lives Thank you for ministering to all in their time of need .
