Richard Fields Obituary
Rochester: October 24, 2014. He was predeceased in death by his parents, Ellis and Velma Fields and brother, Virgil C. Fields. He is survived by a brother, Alfred Fields (Anne) and sisters, Clothilde Gamble and Velma Marlene Cousins, and many nieces, nephews and good friends. He will be missed by a special friend, Mary Ann Hertweck and a long time family friend, Marjorie Walker. Richard attended Holy Redeemer, East High School and the University of Wisconsin. He retired from the City of Rochester as an Emergency Communication Dispatcher. His passions were playing bingo, writing poetry, reading and spending time with his friends and family.
Friends may call Friday, 10-11 AM at Triumph the Church & Kingdom of God in Christ, 1025 N. Clinton Ave. Funeral Service to follow at 11AM, Rev. Orpah Francis, Officiating. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, NY. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate in Richard's name to St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center Inc., 417 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.

Saw Rich when a bunch of us went on a bus trip to Foxwoods to play bingo. Was surprised he was not on the bus trip in September. He was a great guy. Tilly, just know that he's in a better place.

Richie was a fixture in the Gallop home. We grew up with his dry humor, wisdom, and honesty (he always told you what he thought!)Through good times and sad times Richie and Herb were always there for us. Courtney N. Gallop, Julien A. I have many fond memories of Richard. We worked together at 911 for several years and he was a big support when I first started there. He was a caring, compassionate man and could always make you laugh. I remember looking forward to his annual Christmas poems. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to all of his loved ones.

When I was 16 years old, Richie gave me my first job at Kinney's Shoe Store. He was a great boss!! I will always remember him for his kindness.
