Irondequoit: February 16, 2015 at age 99. Predeceased by his son-in-law, Thomas Malta. Survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary; son, Victor, Jr. (Eileen); daughters, Dianne (Gary) Ragan and Deborah Malta; grandchildren, Kimberly (Edward) Vaquero, Victor III (Meghann) Salerno, Jason (Amy) Ragan, Aaron Ragan, Justin (Elizabeth) Ragan, Christian Malta and Thomas, Jr. (Chanh) Malta; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher and Timothy Vaquero; Nathan, Ryan and Aislin Ragan; Charlotte and Thomas Malta III; and brother, Anthony Salerno.

The family gives special thanks to his caregivers, Jose, Noel, Enrique and Yaimi, and good friend Maurice Grey.

Victor was a US Army veteran of WWII. He enjoyed a long career working for the Wilson Family helping to manage the Brighton 12 Corners Howard Johnson's Restaurant for 25 years, and later managed the McCurdy's Garden Room at Midtown Plaza.

Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 19, 4-8 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 20, 10 AM at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church, 25 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John Fisher College for the Victor E. Salerno Center for American Enterprise, Institutional Advancement Office, 3690 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14618. Aunt Mary, Skip, Dianne, Debbie & family,
I am so lost for words! So sorry for the lost of Uncle Vic, he sure had a fulfilled life. It is so sad here on earth to lose a love one, but we must now rejoice that he is at home with our LORD JESUS CHRIST, & Uncle Vic is whole again AMEN!
