To My Brother's Family:
I am so glad I had him for a brother and so sad he has left us. Unfortunately, no one can change this. In February this year, Addie and I talked about Valentine's Day being the 80th anniversary of our mother Clara's death. After her death, we were separated. All five kids had their individual struggle, which is a long story. When World War II ended, Addie, Johnny, and I came to Denver and were able to get re-acquainted and have some time together. I loved him and will miss him. He was such a fine man. Love and hugs. Sister Elsie.

Mom (Elsie) and I had such an enjoyable lunch with Addie and Irene on June 4th. Mom made bieroch and and we drove out to their house. Addie was having a tough time of it and said, "Life is hell after 90." He shared a couple of his war stories, which were so touching. I know the war haunted him. I have such fond memories of him over the years. When we'd go on our big family picnics in the mountains he was always so fun and happy. I never remember a cross word coming from his lips. Not only was he great brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend - he was also a great uncle! I will miss him.

Uncle Addie was so kind, sweet and loving. He's one of a kind.
He was so patient with "us" girls (Sandie, Patti, Melodee and me) when we'd play in the yard and had "stuff" all over while we were getting ready to put on a play.
Uncle Addie was a very special person and will be missed by all.

Addie is my Daddy. He married my Mother when I was little. I will mourn him forever. I had a Father, I loved him dearly, I lost him in 1990.
But, I'm so lucky to also have a Daddy, he raised me.
I told my Mother once, that I would marry someone just like Daddy. It took me a while, but I found one. I love you Daddy. Sandie

We have lost not only a favorite uncle, but one the of few surviving heroes of World War II. As a B-17 waist gunner, Uncle Addie risked his life daily while flying missions from England to Europe. Although he was a quiet man, he was very special to those whose lives he touched. We will miss him very much. Bob & Delores Funk; Byron Center, Michigan
