Colin Cassidy Obituary

Colin was a sweet, loving, kind and outgoing boy who touched more people than any of us will ever know. Those who came in contact with him were instantly engaged by his thoughtful nature. During "special" evening prayers shared with his parents, Chris and Sara Cassidy, he included blessings for friends, neighbors, family, dogs and the firemen across the street. Colin enjoyed sharing time with grandparents Mike and Beverly Russell and Tom Thompson, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other cherished family members and friends. Above all, Colin was big brother to Alexandria Ruth. His tenderness towards her began from day one, often instructing Alex's caregivers of his sister's needs. She now has a guardian angel that will be with her always. Colin left us way too soon. His infectious laugh and conversation beyond his years are now being enjoyed by his paternal grandparents (and namesake) Louis and Gertrude Cassidy, who preceded him in death. Calling hours will be from 4-7pm on Thurs., at Crown Hill Pavilion, W. 29th Ave. and Wadsworth, with services at 10:00am on Fri., at Trinity United Methodist Church, 18th and Broadway. Inurnment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Colin L. Cassidy Memorial Fund, c/o US Bank, 12340 W. Alameda Pkwy., Lakewood. CO 80228.

Sara and Chris . . .
I love you two so much. My heart aches with you during this immeasurable pain. The Lord says that He is the "LIFTER OF OUR HEADS". As you grieve and during those times, moments, days when you don't feel like you can continue any longer, I pray He lifts your head and showers you with encouragement (even if you can only receive an ounce in that moment) You two are an amazing couple. I LOVE YOU DEARLY.

Dear Sara,
I have had the pleasure of knowing you professionally for many years, as I was a member of the Public Affairs Council at the Denver Chamber. In addition to doing a great job for our committee, you have always been so positive, cheerful and giving of your talents. When I learned that that little boy who was gone was yours, my heart became very heavy and truly aches for you. I have been praying for you and asking others to pray for you as well. May the Lord wrap His loving arms around you and hold you tight and may you find comfort knowing that the Lord is with you at all times. M.L. Richardson (formerly Tucker and formerly with Lafarge)

Chris, Sarah, Alexandria & Family,

Our condolences go out to you and your entire family. Words can not express the sadness and loss that is felt by a life lost so young. Our hearts bleed for you and I know our sorrow is lapsed by yours 100 times over. Colin was a beautiful, kind, and amazing being. The only way I can imagine his loss is to think that God longed for his spirit in heaven as much as we long for him now on Earth. I will never forget the pride and joy I saw in you Sarah while you carried Colin in your womb. Or the beauty of his little self and his amazing blonde curls. I pray that you can find peace and joy again in those memories and the many that followed. I know now that angels are real because Colin has got to be one, may both his and the lord grace bring comfort to you in time. Our prayers and thought remain with you.
