Young, Dr. John K.
March 29, 1940 - June 13, 2023

Dr. John K. Young of Kersey, CO passed away due to complications following heart surgery. He was born in Hot Springs, NM to Hobarts and Gladys Young. Raised in NM and a graduate of New Mexico State University, he relocated to CO to attend Colorado State University where he graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He and wife, Lynn, raised their family in Greeley and then moved to Arvada where he had a mobile Equine practice for 30 years. John was very active in numerous civic and professional groups and ultimately president of most: Greeley Jaycees; Greeley Independence Stampede Committee; Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce; Colorado Veterinary Association; The Academy of Veterinary Consultants; Colorado State Fair Commission; Colorado Agriculture Commission but the organization near and dear to his heart was the Roundup Riders of the Rockies. He was happiest on the back of a horse and rode with RRR for 25 years. He was predeceased by his parents. Survivors include wife of 63 years, Lynn; sister, Marolyn; children, Doug (Diane), Lova, Lisa (Mark), 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
