Countless hours of singing with you in ’97 - eye to eye on the mic - I will always remember you as such a passionate person. There for others listening. True at al times. Thoroughly honest with a pinch of delightful sense for the funny side of life. Highly spirited. That’s how I will keep you in my memories. Your friend from the “high-tenor-fraction” of Cast E’97…
Tschüss, Kelly !!
With love for you and for your friends and family.

I am so sorry to hear this news a bit too late. I traveled with Kelly "K-dog" in Up With People Cast E97'. His laughter will remain in my heart forever. He always had the best stories and his laugh could infect even the strangers walking down the street! We all loved him so very much and I want to thank you for bringing such a wonderful person into my life. He will be greatly missed. ~Audra (Meyer) Cardwell.

The master said, Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!
~ Matthew 25:23, NLT
God is celebrating to have Kelly home. Kelly's gift was to show all of us the love one person can spread to bring so many people together as seen yesterday at his funeral. I am honored to have been a part of that. There is proof he even smiles after his passing. As i took my two young daughters, Melanies little sisters to say good by to him, Jade mentioned that she felt a chill as she turned around and at the same moment her little sister Nelly said: Jade did you see that? Kelly just smiled at us. So be assured Kelly is smiling on all of us. Be blessed

Kelly....what can I say about this wonderful human being that people don't already know? His strength, laughter, demeanor, personality and courage lit up every room. Over the last couple of years we have had little contact due to the nature of life and people growing apart. But "WESTSIDE" will never be forgotten...I will also never forget your support in my decision to have my daughter Kalynne. It is friends like you that people will never forget because you left footprints on our hearts.
Please be one of the angels that meet me in the gates of heaven....until then you will never be forgotten.
To Barb and Tammy - my deepest condolences.

Not only his smile and laughter, but his sincere interest in the other person, made Kelly a wonderful travel companion, as we traveled together with UWP’97. I remember his caring nature, when I came back to the UWP group from a weeks stay in a German hospital. Because I was tired and in pain, instead of going downstairs to a party, he stayed at my bedside until I fell a sleep,.
Some weeks ago I wrote him a note in his facebook. Unfortunately I never got in contact with him, but it is good to know he was well loved by his family, friends, and lovely girlfriend.
My heart goes out to all of you. Annebelle

As I write this, my daughter Erica is on a flight out to Denver to pay her last respects to Kelly. She loved him so very much. He was a kind and decent man who I believe would do anything for anyone. He came all the way from Colorado to sing for Erica's wedding 7 years ago. We haven't seen him since, but we love him still.
Hey Kelly,
I know what you're doing right now. You're sitting at the grand piano in the clouds doing a sing-a-long like you did at Erica's wedding with the rest of the angels in Heaven. You will be greatly missed. We love you.

I never had the honor of meeting Kelly, I only knew of him as "Tank" on the Tom Martino Troubleshooter Show, I grew to love and enjoy Tanks personality and intelligence, his laughter will surely be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and co-worker he leaves, but remember, there will always be laughter when you think of the great friend who touched so many lives in such a short time.
I only heard your voice and laughter, via podcast, And now I know your somewhere lounging, having a blast!

To my rockstar friend Kelly,
I loved how you lit up a room when you walked in. Your smile was like a ray of sunshine. I think I will miss that the most. Everyone that knew you instantly loved you. You were truly one of a kind. You were the kind of guy that wanted to take me out for a beautiful night on YOUR birthday to a wonderful restaurant and Phantom. You refused to let me give you a present or pay for dinner. You were even so thoughtful as to call ahead to make sure that I couldn't get in touch with anyone at the restaurant to let me pay. I still remember the card that you gave me, "Through this roller coaster we call life, I am glad to be along with you on this ride".
You were a wonderful person and friend. You were always there for me, no matter what hard times we went through. You accepted me for all my faults and wouldn't ever let anyone say anything bad about me. Thank you for being the wonderful kind person that you were and you have no idea how much you will be missed.
Love,
Your friend PQ

I attended school with Kelly. I was a grade ahead of him. I have not seen him since High school, but I have not forgotten about him. It is imposable to forget certain people. I remember how he treated people around him, and his smile. I learned from him how to smile at people around you with your heart, and soul. I am saddened by the news of his passing. The brightest lights always burn the fastest. I will always remember his kind, gentle smile.

I knew Kelly through a friend at KOA and spent several Thursday nights with them both back in 2007 while he was producing the radio show with Big Steve. I also had the opportunity to spend a few nights with him and friends at Karaoke and at his 30th birthday party. He always asked me to sing "I Hope You Dance" and I will forever remember that as Kelly's song. Kelly was an amazing guy and anyone who knew him counts themselves fortunate to have known him. He will be missed incredibly.

Kelly...I can´t believe it. I traveled with him 1997 with UWP. A few weeks ago I was going through some pictures of our year. I found one with Kelly and a huge black shark for the pool (out of plastic). We had a wonderful stay together in the same host family. We were talking half of the night while swimming in that pool. I wanted to get in touch with him again. Now it´s too late. I can´t believe it. With him I got to know a real funny and wonderful person. My thoughts are with his familiy and his girlfriend.
