Matthew Thomas Ahearn, "Matt," age 34, passed away, suddenly, in Denver, CO on April 4, 2023. Matt grew up in Chili, NY and was a 2006 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School. In his 20s Matt, with his cherished cat Karma, relocated to Denver where he established a close-knit group of friends and fulfilling life. Matt was an incredibly personable and passionate man whose varied interests ranged from a love of live music to connecting with friends to exploring the world through travel. Matt was a diehard fan of the Buffalo Bills, a chicken wing connoisseur, a pop culture enthusiast. He was a profoundly deep thinker whose social consciousness drove his infectious wit and humor. Matt radiated warmth and good nature and formed deep, lasting relationships during all stages of his life. He was a great friend, and an even greater son and brother. He will be missed immensely. Matt is survived by his parents, Lorraine "Lori" and William "Bill" Ahearn of Rochester NY; his sister, Heather Galetto (Lou), of Rochester NY; and his brother, Christopher Ahearn (Nicole), of New York, NY. He is also survived by his beloved niece Elena Galetto, cousins, aunts, uncles and his many close friends. A Celebration of Life and reception for Matt will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Rochester, NY on Sunday, April 30 at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Open Door Mission or Lollypop Farms, organizations aligned with Matt's beliefs and ethos.
