Peggy Kaye Obituary

Peggy J. Kaye, 52, of Highlands Ranch, died Saturday, November 8, 2003, after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer. Peggy leaves behind her family, and family of friends. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Corey; her mother, Carol Kaye, Newhall, CA; her brother, Peter Kaye (Gayle), Leona Valley, CA; her sister, Gwyn Fireman (Tim Livengood), Bowie, MD; her two nieces, Rachel and Emmy; and many devoted friends. Peggy June Kaye was born on August 2, 1951 in Long Beach, CA, and spent her early years in Southern California. She moved to Colorado in January, 1979 and began her long and rewarding telecommunications/ cable career with Mountain Bell. Peggy was passionate about her work, and was instrumental in developing the first integrated technology group within the US WEST Law Department. Peggy was recognized for her talent, achievements and outstanding contributions on numerous occasions and rose through the ranks at US WEST, MediaOne, and AT&T Broadband to become Executive Director - Shared Technologies. She retired from AT&T Broadband in 2001. Peggy's enthusiasm for life was infectious and her love of learning was insatiable. She took great pleasure in teaching and mentoring others and many benefited from her intellect and wisdom. As a single mother, Peggy took great pride in raising her lovely daughter, Corey, while balancing the demands of work and home. Even while battling her disease, Peggy maintained a rigorous schedule, yet always had a smile and encouraging word for everyone. Peggy lived her life in the same manner as she died - with grace and dignity. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her and will be dearly missed. Peggy had an indomitable spirit and will remain forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Peggy J. Kaye Scholarship Fund, Douglas County Community Foundation, PO Box 84, Castle Rock, CO 80104. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at the Terrace Gardens Event Center, 13065 East Briarwood Ave., Englewood, CO 80112. All are welcome to join us in this celebration of Peggy's life where we will honor and remember this very special individual.
