Janet Jameson Obituary

Janet Chapple Jameson

1938 ~ 2022

- Our loving mother, Janet Chapple Jameson, made a peaceful return home to her Heavenly Father on July 11, 2022, at the age of 84. She was born on February 25, 1938, to Joseph William Chapple and Lilly Ann Loy in Spanish Fork, Utah. Janet was the youngest of thirteen children. Despite losing her father at a young age, her brother Bert became a father figure to her. She grew up surrounded by the love and care of her sweet mother, as well as her brothers and sisters.

Janet enjoyed the many perks that come from being the youngest child. She had a happy childhood, graduating from Spanish Fork High School, and later attending the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. She eventually met and fell in love with Milton Kirkham Jameson. After returning from his mission, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 10, 1959. Together they had three sons, Craig, Brad, and Trent.

From a young age, Janet learned the value of hard work. Whether picking fruit on Dawson's farm, or helping her brother Bert in his cafe, her work ethic would prepare her well for the future. In 1969, Janet went to work for Promised Land Publications as a manager, becoming a key member in marketing the first illustrated Book of Mormon. Ahead of her time in breaking down barriers for women in the workplace, Janet made significant contributions to the company, which later developed into Eagle Marketing.

Janet lived by the motto, "Two people can do anything as long as one is the Lord ." Her strong, steadfast faith guided her in all life decisions. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings and auxiliaries, from Young Women's to Relief Society. She loved wherever and whomever she served. Among the callings she enjoyed most were serving with her husband in the Salt Lake Temple, The LDS Conference Center, and three stake missions.

Janet loved spending time with her family, playing tennis, and playing games and puzzles. Having studied fashion design in college, she was a talented seamstress. Above all, Janet loved people. She saw the best in everyone, welcomed strangers with open arms, and always remained a strong believer in second chances. There wasn't anyone to whom she didn't open her heart.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her three sons: Craig (Mindi), Brad (Tania), and Trent (Jamileh); eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel, 5235 South Wesley Road (1150 East), SLC, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
