Kenneth Watson Obituary

Kenneth Woodrow Watson

January 17, 1948 ~ August 7, 2025

Cottonwood Heights, Utah-Kenneth Woodrow Watson, 77, of Cottonwood Heights, passed away August 7, 2025, following a cycling accident. Born in Parowan, Utah, to Woodrow Williams and Dora LaRue Watson, Ken was a proud Parowan High graduate and three-sport athlete. He married his high school sweetheart, Jerrolyn "Jerri" Benson, in the St. George Utah Temple in 1968, and together they shared 56 wonderful years.

Ken earned a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Utah and owned EWP Engineering for many years, leaving a lasting mark on Utah communities. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in numerous callings, on a service mission with Jerri, and as an ordinance worker in the Draper Utah Temple.

Ken loved boating, hunting, marathons, golf, cycling, westerns, and cheering for his grandchildren. He was known for his "no filter" humor, quick wit, and deep love for family and friends.

He is survived by Jerri; children KeriLyn (Garet) Hammond, Lori (JC) Hall, Jason (Ashlee) Watson, and Brandon (Lisa) Watson; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his brother Ralph Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennie, son Brady, and sister Carolyn Bigelow.

Viewings will be held Aug. 14, 6–8 p.m., and Aug. 15, 9–10:30 a.m., at 8170 S Short Hills Dr., Cottonwood Heights. Funeral services follow Aug. 15 at 11 a.m., with interment at Memorial Mountain View Estates Cemetery.

Ken was a little older than me and always a great example, a nice person who everyone liked. Our deepest condolences to Jeri and family at this difficult time.

Kenny was my next door neighbor until highschool graduation. He was my good friend with a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. His love for Jerri and family was an angelic example. I will miss him. My sincere condolences.

I am so sorry to hear about Ken's passing. He was our friend when he served as a stake high counselor at the Brighton Branch. He was totally unpretentious, fun, and such a good guy. We just loved him during his time in Brighton.

Love,
