Dear Dorothy and Family,
I´m so sorry to hear of Roger´s passing. He was always kind, friendly and a man of integrity. What a blessing it is to understand the Plan of Salvation and know that you will be reunited as an eternal family.
I send much love and empathy.

I was Elder Roger Jensen´s first mission companion and trainer, though we didn´t use that term in those days. He didn´t need much training. My memories of him were all highly favorable. He was a pleasant, totally good-natured missionary, even when the gallon of home-made root beer we tried to concoct exploded all over the walls and carpet of our room as we were kneeling in prayer at day´s end. We hadn´t considered the yeast called for in the recipe would make it ferment and a violation of the Word of Wisdom anyway. Elder Jensen had an aura of spirituality that we could tell would lead to a calling to leadership. Bishop twice does not surprise me. Director of Church public affairs in Nairobi does not. Master Sargent does not. A career in the military does. He seemed entirely too congenial to be a soldier. I was pleased to see in his obituary a brief recounting of what obviously was a prosperous, well-lived life. I felt fortunate to be paired with him for 6 months. Jensen´s, you were, I´m sure, fortunate to be with him for decades. In this time of sadness I hope you can look happily on the blessing he was, is, and will continue to be in your family.
