David Halverson Obituary
Webster City
David Phillip Halverson, 62, of Webster City, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at The Webster City Links Golf Course from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service led by Pastor William Reister at 6:00 p.m.
David Phillip Halverson was born February 14, 1954 in Alta, the son of Phillip and Iris Halverson. He graduated from Alta Community School in 1972 and Iowa State University in 1976.
Dave married Sheryl Ann Thompson on April 15, 1978 in Ellsworth. While in Ellsworth, Dave was a member of the public library board, cooperative telephone board, church trustees and a volunteer fireman. Dave spent his entire working career in the Farmer's Cooperative system. He enjoyed agribusiness and promoting good soil stewardship. Dave was an avid reader and enjoyed a relaxing game of golf. He was a loyal fan of the Cyclones, Twins and Vikings. He especially loved being a part-time resident of the Galena Territory.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sheryl; mother, Iris Halverson of Alta; brother, Frank (Brenda) Halverson of Linn Grove; sister, Ann (Jim) Stimson of Newfane, NY; sister-in-law, Kathy Prowant of Urbandale; brother-in-law, Craig (Dawn) Thompson of Bradenton, FL; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and special aunt-in-law, Margaret Anderson of Ellsworth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to the Kendall Young Library in Webster City or the Salvation Army.
