MAURICE S. GEHRINGER
St. Marys
Mr. Maurice S. Gehringer passed away July 6, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines after a brief illnes. Maurice was a life long resident of the St. Marys community and ran heavy equipment for Warren County all of his working life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Maurice was a life long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a charter member of American Legion Post # 716 and a member of Knights of Columbus # 10150.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lizzie Gehringer; a brother, Lester G.; and two sisters- Mary Rief and Claribel Hopple. Surviving Maurice is his loving wife, Charlotte (Wilgenbush) Gehringer, children, John (Amber) Gehringer, Randall(Karla) Gehringer, Steven (Jolene) Gehringer, Elizabeth Ann (partner Tompsie Smith) Gehringer, Robert (Wendy) Gehringer and Brian(Maureen) Gehringer, grandchildren, Lacey, Morgan, Trevor, Katilyn, Lane, Courtney, Tucker and Zachary, great-grandchild, Averi Ann Gehringer; one brother, Francis Gehringer.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 10, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, Iowa. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the church parish hall. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Marys cemetery. Memorials may be left in memory of Maurice.
