Abraham Jalil Obituary

Abraham Jalil
April 17, 1991 - December 3, 2020
Arlington, Texas - The Jalil Family lost a shining light in the early morning hours of December 3, 2020. Abraham Jalil, 29, passed away after battling an infection that damaged his sweet, beautiful heart. Our hearts are broken, but Abe is now at peace.
He was laid to rest on Friday following the traditions of the Muslim faith at Moore Memorial Gardens, in Arlington, Texas. His family gathered on Saturday in East Texas to celebrate his life.
His soul was gentle, kind and brave. His mind was brilliant, beautiful and honest. He lived his life with passion in all things and everything he did, he did with his whole heart. From the moment he could hold the guitar, he wielded it with grace and style. He put his heart into his music and had tremendous ambition to share his soul with the world. He was the soundtrack of our lives and, today, the silence is deafening.
Abe was funny and talented, with an amazing Johnny Cash cover. He was thoughtful and intelligent, always knowing what to say in any situation. He was the type of guy who would drive his girl an hour outside of town to look at the stars and then turn her house into a planetarium so they could lie on the floor at home and look at the stars together whenever they wanted. He insisted on doing her least favorite chores and always made sure there were fresh sunflowers on her kitchen table. He had so much compassion, genuinely caring when he asked how your day was, and listened to every detail as you responded.
King of the photo bomb, Abe could not wait to spoil a movie because he was so excited to share a good story with you. He was the best Capture the Flag teammate, always letting his little cousins win where it counted, and he was forever a champion of the underdog. He befriended strangers, or anyone who needed befriending, and made them feel included and important. He trekked the globe with style and visited loved ones on many continents. He was the life of every party and had a wonderfully inspiring energy that was undeniable.
Abraham had magnetic charm and electric strength. Everything he touched became Art and everything he created was special. He was a fantastic enigma. He loved and was beloved by everyone that knew him, and we were privileged to have had him for the short time we did. It is impossible to encompass the being that was Abe into a few paragraphs. We will carry his beauty in our hearts forever and will see him in all things beautiful. He will be deeply missed but his memory and his music will never die.
Abraham is survived by his love Samantha Jensen, his grandmother Dorothy Ussery, his parents Joe and Sharon Jalil, his big sister Myriam Abdeljalil, his little brother Gussan Jalil, his beloved niece Nada Abdeljalil and his entire extended family all over the world.
"He called me his sunflower, but he was the Sun." – Samantha Jensen

My sweet Abe,
I know God called you and I shouldn't question that, but this cut is a deep one. You left us with sweet memories that we will cherish forever. We love you so much, buddy.

What a beautiful tribute to a shining star, now out among the stars. I am so proud that he is my nephew, and so devastated that we will have a hole in our lives.
