Bobby Andrew Herrell, 70, passed from this life to be with the Savior on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Military burial: 9:30 a.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cornerstone Missions, that others might hear the gospel. The Rev. Dr. Herrell was born May 3, 1941. He was a native son of the state of Texas. He attended Arlington High School, Arlington Baptist College, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and UT-Arlington. He served six years in the U.S. Navy as a meteorologist. He was a man of God who will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. The Rev. Herrell served as a pastor for 34 years at numerous churches across Northeast Texas. He was a specialist in rescuing struggling churches and restoring them to health and fruitfulness. He was a passionate preacher of God's word, who loved the souls of the lost. He was instrumental in shaping the lives of many, some of whom are now serving as pastors and missionaries around the world. His pastorates included Central Baptist Church, Arlington; Westside Baptist, Saginaw; South Center Baptist, Arlington; Walnut Springs Baptist, Canton; Calvary Baptist, Palestine; West Handley Baptist, Fort Worth; Brown Trail Baptist, Hurst; and Cornerstone Baptist, Fort Worth. Survivors: Wife, Leah Herrell of Keller; daughter, DeDe Coston and husband, Jeff, of Keller and their daughters, Lauren, Macy, Elisabeth and Desiree; son, Bobby W. Herrell and wife, Susan, of Keller and their sons, Andrew and Jack; brothers, Jerry Herrell and wife, Fran, of Arlington, Tom Browning and wife, Beverly, and their children, Gage and Aaris; and sister, Becky Evans and husband, Don, of Lindale and their daughter, Amarina.
