Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 4800 S. Riverside Drive, Fort Worth. Visitation: Noon to 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Funeral Home, with family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Survivors: Left with fond and precious memories are his loving parents, Glenda Monroe (Kevin) and Bruce E. McKinney Sr. (Marilyn); children, Bruce E. III, Braylon and Bryson McKinney; daughter, Kiancia McKinney; brothers, Brodrick, Bryant, Devin McKinney; sister, Sheena Smith; grandparents, Marie Coney and Mary McKinney-Jones (Elmo); and a host of other family and friends.

Man Bruce, its still hard to believe that you are gone, an I still get the chills an my heart skips a beat everytime I want to hear your voice or see your face an realize that you are gone. You taught me alot of vailable things as far as women an as a mother. I didnt understand then why you cared for me the way you did an why it was so important to you that I never settled, an now I see. I will never find another friend like the friend I had in you. And no one will be able to understand the bond that you an I shared. Even in your absence you have showed an teached me so much about life. An I am so grateful that you were apart of my life....... Man this hurts but God never makes mistakes. i miss u alot sometimes when i get up in the morning i go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face after i wash my face I look in the mirror and I have to jump back cause all i see is you looking back at me. I guess we do look alike. But then i think about it and i come to relize that's just you keeping your promise to me. You always said "I GOT YOU I AINT GOING NOWHERE". In return my job is to make sure your kids are ok and that they always remember you but that's easy cause while you were here you made sure that they know who Daddy is trust me they will never forget you. LOL. yesterday MAN-MAN was playing the game he ask me to help him so i did when i gave him back the controller i said there you go son. Well Braylon said Uncle Bryant Why you called me brother son we aint yo son we Bruce son thats our Daddy yo brother I laugh and said my bad nephew he said yea that's better and we both laugh. Sometimes I do things that reminds your kids of you they say you and I act alike so I guess you knew what you were doin when you make sure ny kids are ok. I love you and I miss you I know you in a better place but i wish you were still here. Lol Brodrick finally went to college and is playing football. lol see bro we do listen to you even when your gone. I love you.

we go way back to elementary, middle and high school, ur little brother brodrick played football with my little brother, and yes it had been awhile since we had seen each other my heart dropped and my eyes teared up when i heard about ur passing.my condolences to the entire family and anyone who knew bruce my thoughts and prayers are with u. I still cant believe it.

Hey Bruce! I thought i would stop by an tell you like I have millions of times since your passing how much I miss you. I've wanted to call you severals times only to realize that you are no longer a phone call away.(Man that hurts like hell) Ive tired to force myself to accept that you are no longer here, but thats so hard to do. You meant so much to me. Life will never be the same. I pray daily for your family an especially for man-man, pooh-pa, braylon an bryceton cause I know that they meant the world to you. Its not everyday that you find a young man that caters to the needs of theirs kids the way that you did. Little Bruce is my oldest nephew and I miss him so much already. I will always think of him in the present tense because he will always be present in my heart.
To my little sister Glenda, God will get us past the hurt one day at a time and I know that.
Broderick and Bryant I love you just as much as I love Little Bruce. I need to hear 'What's up Aunt Gwen' every now and then. If you need me to teach you how to say it the way Little Bruce did I will.

I know ive already signed this guest book once but i just had to come back an say to Bruce's family, you guys really touched my heart on this weekend.I've been to a many wakes an funerals, but never to one that was as awesome as this one, Bruce always had a way of making sure that he kept me encourage an that i saw things his way an again he accomplished just that. I just want to say to Ms. Glenda you a very, very anointed women of God an you blessed my heart deeply in so many ways this weekend, it brings tears of joy to my eyes even now. An then Brodrick oh my God!!!! You are just unexplainable. Theres is so much I can say!! You all will be in my prayers always!!!!

I did not get to know Bruce very well, but I know he was a loving child just because I had the pleasure of meeting his parents. Glenda I wish you and yours peace. because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
