On July 22nd, Ruby Storrer died in Marysville, Washington. She was 87 years old. Ten days later her husband, Curly Storrer also died there. He was 92 years old. They were living with, and being cared for, by their youngest daughter, Joy Griffith, and her husband Garry
Although they were in Washington the last few years of their life, other than that, their life had been spent together in Fort Worth, Texas. Curly was a switchman and yard master for the MKT Railroad until he retired. Ruby was a homemaker and a caterer with Walter Jetton's Bar-B-Q catering service.
They were both Christians and members of Morningside Christian Church and later Handley Meadowbrook Christian Church. They were the parents of three daughters, Jean, Judy, and Joy.
Their values in life consisted of loving the Lord Jesus Christ, each other, their family and working for the things in life that they enjoyed. They were the parents of my wife Jean. Their values were passed down to her and i t is my belief that they have been passed on down to our children and their children. These are the things that make a happy human life.
They are both in heaven now where all troubles of life are over and waiting on all of their family who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior

Papa was a very special man, and such an encouragement to me as a man, a husband, a father, and hopefully one day a grandfather. I have so many positive memories of him, as he was such a joy to be around. The Christmas Story, home movies, barbecued chicken, dominoes, and a comfortable chair will always mean "Papa" to me.

Papa was my grandfather by marriage, but was the only grandfather I knew, so I claimed him as my own. One of our first traditions as a new family was to read the Christmas story on Christmas eve, a tradition we adopted from Papa and still do 17 years later. We love and miss you papa, but know you would have never been as happy as you are right now had you not been called home to be with both loves of your life, Mema and Jesus.

Curly is in the house of God with his dear wife and he knows great joy. That doesn't mean that our hearts are not heavy for his going and his memory will always be in our hearts.

I couldn't imagine more wonderful great-grandparents. Mema and Papa were such amazing pillars of faith in our family, and I loved them very much. Memories of my childhood in Fort Worth are filled with Christmas dinners, reading Luke 2 every year, and very well-kept yards. Josh, my husband, never got to meet them, but I know he would have loved them just the same. God bless them both, and I can picture them walking in Heaven, hand in hand.
