Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Morningside United Methodist Church, 2860 Evans Ave., the Rev. Alice P. Sims officiating. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Wake: 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Chapel.
Survivors: Wife, Dorothy Denise Jones; son, Cedric Jones Jr.; parents, Michael Ray Jones Sr. and Janet Jones; brothers, Michael Jones Jr., Marcus Jones and Jay Jones Sr.; sisters, Katrina Mitchell and Kimberly Paulhill; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

To the Jones family, I pray that God will give you whatever it is that you need at this time. Cedric was one of my all time favorites at Wyatt. I remember him telling me that his first 3-pointer of the basketball game was for me. I would always try to make sure that I was there for the beginning of the games. I know that we should be celebrating his home going but this is hard for me to digest. I will never forget my children that came through Wyatt while I was there.

Cedric was a special friend to us, his funny funny sense of humor taught you to take the positive of a negative situation. We will always keep that in our hearts. He will be missed greatly. No one has the answers. People can claim to know what you are experiencing, that may or may not be true, but the one thing I know to be a fact, is that GOD is a mender of the hearts. If you live to serve Jesus, you will see Ced again. Think of the wonderful things about Ced and place that over the thought of him not being there....... Keep this in mind, whenever you're in doubt....KNOW THAT GOD IS....
