David Cradick Obituary

David "Kidd" Cradick, 53, of Dunedin, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 27, 2013, in New Orleans, La. He passed away doing what he loved, selflessly helping others by hosting a golf tournament for his charity Kidd's Kids. Service: A private funeral will be held for immediate friends and family. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Kidd's Kids and The Hope Center for Autism. David was a nationally syndicated radio personality and host of "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" on "Kiss FM" KHKS-FM (106.1). The show also broadcast on more than 75 stations nationally and the television program Dish Nation. Throughout his life, David worked selflessly to improve the lives of chronically ill and physically challenged children by providing them with an unforgettable adventure to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. The most important thing in David's life was his daughter, Caroline, who looks forward to continuing his charitable legacy with the organization. For many, David was a friendly voice on the radio in the morning providing a laugh and a smile on the commute to work or school. As David would always say as he signed off the air, "Keep looking up because that's where it all is." Survivors: David is survived by his beloved daughter, Caroline, and her mother Carol; and many close friends and colleagues.

Kidd, you are dearly missed. I listen to the Kidd Kraddick in the morning every day. The cast and crew are managing the morning show beautifully, because of you! You would be proud. I enjoy hearing clips played of you hosting your show. You left your legacy with me too. I discovered your show appx. 25+ yrs ago. That’s a long time for someone to listen to a radio show. The years since you’ve been gone seem to be flying by, but I always think about it was right about this time of year that I heard the tragic news that you were gone, but you will never be forgotten. RIP

Kidd,
We still miss you on the Kidds Kids trip and hearing your voice in the mornings. You always got my day started and I enjoyed being a part of your dream as one of your nurses on the Kidds Kids trips for 10 years. Your dream and your love lives on through Caroline and Disney World where dreams really do come true for so many children and their families just as you wanted.

Happy Birthday in Heaven Kidd!! The drive to work won't ever be the same but I am so blessed to have known you since 1986 during the KEGL days. It's still so hard to believe that you have earned your radio wings way too soon! Heaven must be a happening place now that you are there socializing with all the Kidd's Kidds that have also earned their precious wings! You are such an "amazing" person who has touched so many lives in your short time on Earth. I will always remember you and how you lived your life by serving others. I aspire to live my life by your example. May God bless and wrap his arms around your family as they continue to grieve their loss. As Big Al would say, “please be safe”! Gonna miss you Kidd! “Keep looking up, cause that's where it all is!”

I miss you, Kidd. Every night before I go to bed, I think "maybe tomorrow I'll wake up and this will all be just a bad dream." But just like the pain in my heart, everyday I wake up, the reality that you're gone is still there. You're missed more than words can say.

I have listened to Kidd since the eagle. He has been apart of my mornings for many many yrs.I have laughed, cried, and laughed some more with him and his show......I have been trying to remember some of the mad moms in minivans and the burn your buns antics that Kidd used to do, and share them with my kids. He was by far the best radio guy out there. He gave so much and wanted nothing in return but to see a smile on someones face. which by the way was my favorite thing about him, his infectious smile. It was and still is priceless.
RIP KIDD.....and I' ll Keep looking up.

My deepest sympathy, thoughts, and condolences go to his family ... especially his daughter Caroline who we have all watched grow up into the young woman she is. My sincere condolences to his daughter Caroline, and to his radio family. I still cannot believe that he has passed, I have listened to the show for 8 years now and there is a huge void in my mornings where Kidd used to be. I still listen and Kidd's Krew is doing a great job carrying on without him, I hope they keep it up! He was a great man and such a special person, he will be so missed. I have never been so sad and empty about losing someone I did not even know until now. Praying for Caroline and all of Kidd's family and friends, keep looking up cause that is where it all is.

San Angelo, Texas. Miss you so much. I'd give anything to hear that muddy wedding fence crutches story again...you were more than a DJ you were a conscience, a fair, reasonable, thoughtful voice who taught someone older than you how to be more open-minded, generous, and just DO something.
