David Wolf Obituary

David Allen Wolf, 59, beloved husband, father, brother and Papa, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Monday at Millsap Baptist Church. Interment: Fairview Cemetery in Millsap. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday with rosary starting at 6 p.m. at White's Funeral Home. David was born March 8, 1954, to Ralph and Nell Wolf. He was married 20 years to his loving wife, Lynnette. David was a graduate of Azle High School and attended Ranger Junior College and the University of North Texas, where he earned his master's degree in education. He was a principal for 30 years until he had to retire because of his illness. David's love for his job created an atmosphere that was conducive to learning. He not only stressed the importance of education, but because of his personality he had a way with his students and teachers that put them at ease, and they all thought that each one of them was his favorite. The schools that he touched were Perrin, Hubbard, Lake Worth, Alvord and Millsap. His love for his family was apparent; there was always a vacation being planned to the beach, ski slopes, or just a weekend away to the Hill Country. David was an avid Rangers and Texas Longhorns fan and many weekends spent with family watching them on television. He was the best PaPa ever, and was a big influence in their young lives, that will leave a lasting impression on them. David was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Nell Wolf, and brother, Ronnie. Survivors: Wife of 20 years, Lynnette; children, Davy Wolf Jr. and wife, Brandie, of Saginaw, Spencer Wolf and wife, Stacey, of Lewisville; stepson, Cody Johnston and wife, Lakrecia, of Millsap; stepdaughter, Ashley Johnston of Weatherford; the light of his life, grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Peyton Smith, Landree Smith and David Allen Wolf III; sister, Paula Landsfeld and husband, Steve, of Saginaw; brother, Terry Wolf and wife, Jolee, of Holliday, Mike Wolf and wife, Marla, of Fort Worth; and a host of other family members and friends.

A remarkable principal, coach, and friend. I was privileged to have worked with David at Lake Worth. He was always so kind and truly cared about the kids and his staff. Heaven has received one our finest. Thoughts and prayers for his family and may they find comfort in knowing that he is with our heavenly father watching over all of them.

How sad that David left us too soon. He and I taught sixth grade together at Roanoke Elementary, and we became good friends. Even as a young teacher, he displayed the qualities of an exemplary educator. God's blessings on his family.
