Louise and Girls,
What a lovely obituary! Louise I'm sorry I wasn't able to make the funeral, you and the girls are in my thoughts and prayers. I was especially touched by Louise's statement in the Star Telegram regarding being in love with Edwin since she was 15. What a wonderful gift to have loved and cherished your husband all your adult life. I know you miss him greatly. Husband, Father, and Grandfather - yes indeed a life well led. Take care, I hope to see you soon.

I was a raw kid when I started working for Dr E in 1978 - my mother said I would not last and I was just sure Dr E would throttle me with every word that came out of my mouth but he had the patience to mold me into a better person and provide me with life skills and work ethic that you just do not see with employers today. Thru thick and thin, we survived, Kathy, Carla and myself - "Dr E's Girls" or "The E Team". I grew up with my Wedgwood family and for that I will be forever grateful. I love and will miss you. Hello Louise and Family,
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. E through our friendship at work at the FWISD Research office. I think of you often. Dr. E was truly a joy to know and be around. I always admired the two of you, it seemed that you were "always young and in love."
Please say hello to all of the "girls and Dan." You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
With Sincere Love, Janett Allen

Thank you Dr.E for the best job I ever had. I looked forward to going to work. You made it fun and you shared so much of your knowledge and wisdom with us.
Your love and compassion for the pets in your care was inspiring.
You also created an environment which embraced clients as well as staff.
Everyone was part of our family. People always felt welcome to just come by to visit for awhile.
Heaven is a better place with you there. (and just a little bit funnier)
I will miss you.

Dr. Ellison may be known as DE to some people but to his clients and friend of animals, he was known as Dr. E. I met Dr. E in 1954 right after we moved to Fort Worth. I followed this very compassionate humane being to his new clinic which was close to my home in Fort Worth. He knew that not only was he treating a dog, cat or fish, he was also treating me. I can remember his amusement when I brought in one of my gold fish for treatment. His compassion and understanding for his clients and four legged friends knew no boundaries. There were many tears shed on his doctors coat as I lost one of my dogs or cats. He always understood my tears and on a couple of special losses, he shed tears too. He tried so hard to save my cats or dogs and did everything possible to do so. I would ask his recommendation on what to do, and he usually said, let's wait a while. He knew I had to prepare myself for the end. He would say, "You will know." And I did. There will never be a more humane nor loving man as Dr. E anywhere. I know Dr. E is at the Rainbow Bridge and has met up with all my past critters and is taking care of them... once again. I will see you again at the Bridge.
God Bless You Dr. E. You are greatly missed.
