I would have posted here long ago had I known this page existed. I first met Gerald when my husband and I bought Fishmongers in 1997. He was the day cook and kitchen manager. I realized early that he was the best asset we had acquired. Gerald was honest, dependable and talented. Before long, he became a trusted friend, too. We worked together for twenty years - He always had my back, and I his. I loved him like a brother. He came to see me when he was feeling sick. He said it was most likely the flu, and that he had seen a doctor but wasn't getting better. I told him to go back to the doctor and he said he would. I was about to undergo heart surgery, so I kept my distance and didn't hug him when he left. It turned out he was diabetic and didn't know it. He died February 14th. I wish every day that I had hugged him.

"G" Still having a hard time excepting that you're gone. It still doesn't seam real. I miss you and I catch myself wanting to pick my phone up and call you. My heart is broken. I just don't understand why God took you. RIP.

G made working at the retirement home so much better, he was a role model and taught us all something about life. Wish I would have kept in touch better over the years, but I'll forever be thankful for what G taught me about life and how great of a person he truly was. He always cared about others more than himself. Thanks for all the good food and great conversation over the years man, and it was truly upsetting to hear about the news of your passing.

I will miss Gerald. He was a loving and caring man. Lots of fun to be around. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. To be absent from the body is to present with the Lord.

"G" you stole my heart 30 years ago the very first time I saw you. We had nothing but good times. Even after we went our separate ways, we always managed to keep in touch and be the best of friends. You were always there for me and I was always there for you. You was a wonderful Father figure to Bianca and I can't thank you enough. I am truly going to miss you. I loved you but God loved you more. God needed the best Chef around and he chose you. I will never forget you. Until we see each other on the other side.
Please give my Best Friend Melba Joyce a big hug. See you later.......
Love,
Betty Wright

He is truly going to be missed. A loving man who would give his last to anyone. Always had a big smile and a warm heart. Showed me nothing but love. I enjoyed our conversations and everything. When your daughter introduced me to you I knew I had a great father in law you will forever be missed Gerald rest peacefully
