Hollis Jones Obituary

Hollis W. Jones, 82, a longtime businessman and entrepreneur, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, in Decatur. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Decatur with the Rev. Gene Smith and the Rev. Ken May officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Lyndon Harvey, J.K. Miller, Ben Hill, Darrell McCandless, Scott Siegmund, Harold Westermier, Dr. Kelley Tibbels, Juan Martinez and Terry Johnson. Memorials: The family requests memorials be made to Wise Area Relief Mission (WARM), 300 N. Trinity, Decatur, Texas 76234. Hollis was born July 18, 1929, in Choctaw, Okla., to John Waymon and Mandy Pool Jones. He married Sue Roberts on Aug. 10, 1973, in Lubbock. Hollis served in the United State Marine Corps. Hollis was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Survivors: Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Sue Roberts Jones of Decatur; daughters, Amanda Harvey and husband, Chad, of Decatur, Holly Hodges and husband, Leon, of Keller, Patti North of Decatur and Penny Bowles and husband, Austin of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
