Iva Mae Ward Cox

1909 - 2009

Iva Mae Ward Cox, 100, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009.
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Lanham Mill Cemetery, Glen Rose.
Iva was born Oct. 19, 1909, in Pearl. Here on this earth, she was treasured by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who just celebrated her 100 years of life. Mrs. Cox and her husband, Glen Cox, lived and worked on Waggoner's Ranch through the Great Depression and never needed anything. They had two children, Bob Cox and Glena Cox Nieswiadomy. Mrs. Cox worked as a bookkeeper and rancher, and retired at age 80 as a gate keeper for Dinosaur Valley State Park.
She taught Sunday school in many Baptist churches, most recently Trinity Baptist. Mrs. Cox bestowed a legacy of faith in her family a faith that believes we will all be reunited in glory. The family of Mrs. Cox would like to especially thank the staff and residents of the Willows Assisted Living Facility for their loving care of our mother.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Homer Cox, and son-in-law, Gene Nieswiadomy.
Survivors: Son, Bob Cox and wife, Neice; daughter, Glena Cox Nieswiadomy; grandchildren, Nancy Shaffer and husband, Paul, Suzy Benton and husband, Mike, Joe Alan Nieswiadomy, Sally Hunt and husband, Bobby, A.J. Cox and wife, Melanie, and Christina Cox; and great-grandchildren, Courtney, Colby, Emily, Lindsey, Drew, Taylor, Justin, Shannon and Meredith.
