Gustine, Texas - Jimmie (Jim) Frank Allen, retired railroad mechanical department supervisor, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2021. He was born July 16, 1943 to Guy and Dixie Allen in Bakersfield, California. He graduated Bakersfield High School and attended Bakersfield College. He proudly served in the United States Army from October 1962 to October 1968. His 36-year railroad career began with Southern Pacific Railroad in 1968 and he retired from Union Pacific Railroad at Fort Worth in 2003.
He and Nancy Page from Texas were married November 22, 1968 in Bakersfield. They shared 52 years of following the railroad, having adventures, and eventually retiring to the Page Family Farm at Gustine, Texas.
Jim was a long-time member of the Baptist Church where he served His Lord in various capacities. He also served his community by volunteering with Big Brothers.
Jimmie F. Allen is survived by his wife, Nancy Page Allen, of Gustine, daughters Christine Levy and husband Peter of Fort Worth, and Cynthia Newton, of Gustine. He leaves behind a legacy through his 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his Aunt Arcy Armistead and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by son SSG Stephen E. Allen, parents – Guy and Dixie Allen, sister Diana Decobert, brother Brad Allen, and nephew Douglas Anderson.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday February 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Gustine, Texas with internment to follow at Trickham Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Gustine, Texas or Trickham Cemetery Association.
