Joseph Henderson Obituary

Joseph "Jake" Randle Henderson IV
April 1, 2001 - November 11, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - Joseph "Jake" Randle Henderson IV, 20, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of Joseph "Josh" Randle III and Allison Lorimer Henderson.
Jake lived briefly in Katy, TX and spent his formative years in El Dorado, AR before moving to Greenville, SC in 2016.
Born on April 1, 2001, Jake entered the world with vim and vigor, and it was abundantly clear that his preference for staying with his mother was not a joking matter. Daring and adventuresome from day one, Jake loved the outdoors and spent many summers in the Texas Hill Country at Camp Stewart where he camped, hiked, rock climbed and became an expert marksman. Jake often found peace through fear whether in South Padre Island "where the big waves were" and "making it to the third sandbar" or leaning out of the most frightful roller coasters. He preferred turkey hunting and cherished his time spent with his grandfather and uncle chasing down Rio Grande Toms. Jake floated the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon where he cliff jumped into the freezing river waters. Holidays spent with his cousins and extended family in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Houston were incredibly special.
Jake's favorite adventures were road-tripping to Austin with his family to cheer on his beloved Texas Longhorns and to partake in a large Bob Armstrong dip and Chile Relleno before kickoff. Highly intelligent and philosophical, Jake had an insatiable desire to find conclusiveness in most anything often researching religion, history, and science. Often projecting a sense of "toughness", Jake was incredibly sensitive, caring and intensely loyal. Perhaps his greatest passion was WWII History where his appreciation of the Greatest Generation and most anyone who fought and died for their country ran deep into his core. His knowledge of military history was unmatched.
Jake's infectious giggle, incredibly bright mind, outspoken candor, and views on most any topic will be cherished yet terribly missed. May his legacy be a reminder to hold dear to your loved ones through both the good and rough times.
Jake's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loving parents, Joseph "Josh" Randle Henderson III and Allison Lorimer Henderson; sister, Hailey Alexis Henderson; his Doberman and loyal companion, Baby Girl Henderson; maternal grandparents, Wishard Speer Lorimer III and Carolyn Lorimer, of Fort Worth; paternal grandmother, Michele "Cheli" Coe Henderson of Houston; paternal grandfather, Joseph Randle "Randy" Henderson II and Debra Ann Henderson, of Houston; aunts and uncles, William Coe Henderson and Dorothy Shain Henderson, of Greenville, SC; Katherine Elizabeth Henderson of Greenville, SC; Wishard Speer Lorimer IV and Clare Pritchett Lorimer, of Fort Worth; John Fulton Lorimer of Fort Worth; two cousins Wishard "Wish" Speer Lorimer V and Diana Lane "Lanie" Lorimer, both of Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents: Wishard Speer Lorimer, Jr and Margaret "Dede" Deutsch Lorimer; Robert N. Smith, Jr. and Betty Smith Stevenson; paternal great grandparents: William Eugene Henderson and Mae Ellis Henderson; Oscar Mickie Coe, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Henry Coe.
Jake's vibrant and unique sense of humor will also be sorely missed by an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins and childhood friends.
