Linda Wright Obituary

Linda Elaine Wright died in Fort Worth on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, after a six-year battle with breast cancer.
Service: 10 a.m. Friday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: Donations in Linda's name may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Tarrant County, Box 101328, Fort Worth, Texas 76185.
Linda was born July 17, 1943, in Fort Worth to Curtis and Rosie Pearl Wright. She grew up on the south side of Fort Worth and attended Rosemont Junior High and Technical High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation from high school, Linda went to work for Continental National Bank and, shortly thereafter, for General Motors. She held several positions at General Motors, retiring as a materials analyst at the Arlington plant after 31 years. Linda loved new adventures; she loved traveling and enjoyed eating out at new and different places. She loved cooking, working in her yard and, most of all, she loved her home. One of her favorite hobbies was interior decorating and that was quite evident in her beautiful home and that of her friends' homes. You could spot the "Linda touch" in the homes of her friends. She also loved listening to books on tape. She would listen to three or four books a week. Linda enjoyed entertaining her friends, making sure that everything was perfect and that they were having a good time. She was the consummate hostess and the perfect friend. She was dearly loved by all her friends and will be deeply missed.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bernice Kiker; and a brother, Curtis Wright Jr.
Survivors: Her brother, Earl Wright and wife, Billie; sisters, Barbara Ann Wright and Brenda Lampman; several nieces and nephews; her caregiver and best friend, Clara Myers; and her longtime friend, Polly Sifuentes.

Linda and I were best friends and lived around the corner from each other. I remember all the good times we had back then, especially at dear old Rosemont. One of her favorite sayings was "Mercy." Can almost her saying it. We always walked to and from school together. Everyday at her house we always had a good old bowl of "red bean's. Every time I go past the old house I think of the Wright family. My thouthts and prayer's are with all of you guy's. Remember the good memories and treasure them and know that you will one day see her again.

Linda was my best friend when I was young. I loved her dearly and will always. She was my bridesmaid at my wedding almost 50 years ago. I pray for us who are left to grieve for her and remember the wonderful times we had together. To the family, I wish peace and comfort. I love you all. Nancy
