Manual was born Aug. 13, 1949, in LaVilla, to Dionisio and Dolores Garcia. Mono grew up with five brothers and three sister in Merkel, and once he was finished with high school, he entered into a career with the military. As a private first class in the Army, Mono served his country in Vietnam for a tour that lasted two years. Once he returned to the states, he set up residence in Fort Worth. It was here that he met the love of his life, Dollie Rios, at a dance in 1984. Dollie must have put the "moves" on Mono because after being a bachelor for 35 years he could not spend another moment without her and they were wed August 13, 1985. This is no coincidence that Mono wanted to be wed on his birthday since he wanted to be sure and never forget their anniversary. Mono was a loving husband and father because Dollie came to him with a daughter, Michelle and a son, Brian and to Mono they were his kids. They had a son together, Manuel Anthony, Sept. 15, 1987, and he felt as if life could not get any better. Mono was a terrific "PaPa." His favorite hobbies included rubbing lotion on his grandson Logan's feet, hanging out with his other grandson, Brian, finding "unusual" knick-knacks from job sites for his granddaughter, Lauren, and being a great friend to his oldest granddaugher, Linsey, who he referred to as his "drama queen." He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Larry Garcia.
Survivors: His wife, Dollie of Fort Worth; sons, Manuel Garcia and Brian Church of Fort Worth; daughter, Michelle Prater of Arlington; grandchildren, Linsey, Lauren, and Logan Prater and Brian Church; brothers, Gearmo Garcia, Ramon Garcia, Lucio Garcia, Juan Garcia, Raye Garcia; sisters, Raquel Garcia, Flora Max Rios, and Olga Jesus Rios; and a total of 32 nieces and nephews.

Dollie,
First I must tell you how sorry I am that such a wonderful man has gone. You two were all I ever hoped Stac and I could be. There are not many men out there like Manuel and your Love help mold him into that man. How lucky you both were in life to experience what most people wait their whole life for and usually never find. You were great parents and friends to all that came across you paths and I will always remember his warm smile!!!I know you are strong and God will provide you the strength you need to keep on blessing others. God be with you now while Manny will live forever in your heart!!! His love for you will never die until you meet in Heaven!!!I love you Dolly and will pray that you remain strong!!!
