Mark Diebold Obituary

Mark Gregory Diebold GRANBURY--Officer Mark Gregory Diebold, 48, of Granbury passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, in the line of duty. FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Capstone Church, 4823 West Loop S, Benbrook. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, in Independence Chapel at Greenwood. Family, friends, and those whose lives Mark has touched are invited to join us in celebrating his life. Mark was born June 28, 1969, in Allis, Wis. He graduated from the police academy on Sept. 21, 1993. Mark had 25 years of service where he earned too many certifications to list. He was a master peace officer, had several life-saving awards, numerous letters of commendation, the Meritorious Conduct Award while serving as a deputy sheriff, deputy constable and sheriff SWAT operator. His SWAT certification was his proudest achievement. Mark was a devoted father, husband, and friend. He brought joy to the lives of everyone who knew him. Even in the darkest times he could make you laugh with the silliest of jokes. The size of his biceps were only dwarfed by the size of his heart. SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Rene Diebold; his daughters, Courtney Diebold, Victoria DeLonais, and Trinity Diebold; his parents, Brigitte Diebold and Christopher Hoyt, Robert and Lu-Dell Diebold; his siblings, Angelika and her husband, Richard Stinson, Christian Diebold, Erik Diebold, Michael and his wife, Amber Diebold, Marisa and her husband, Adam Flynn; his maternal family, including his parents-in-law, Karol French and Jay Heffron; his sister-in-law, Tasha and her husband, Kenneth Prosise; along with his nieces and nephews.

I did not know Mark personally but did have the honor of meeting him via my best friend at a fire truck pull. He was full of smiles and it was evident he was admired by his peers. I was unaware of his heroism but it is evident he made an impact to many. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, daughters, family and friends.
