Dianne C. Diebold, age 79, of Point Breeze died of cancer on Friday October 3. She was the daughter of the late Beverly Childress Diebold and Ferdinand Heim Diebold. She is survived by her husband, Robert McNeice, daughter Sarah Kelleher of Aspinwall, sister Beverly Green of Clermont, FL and brother David Diebold of Charleston, SC, She was predeceased by her son, Dennis D. Kelleher. Dianne grew up in Fox Chapel and attended Winchester Thurston School and Vassar College. After earning her teaching certificate at the University of Pittsburgh, she taught English at Shaler High School in the 1970s. As she raised her family, Dianne served on the board of the Vassar Club, studied and later led classes in yoga, hosted spiritual study groups and then learned and practiced Core Somatics. Dianne specialized in baking homemade sourdough bread with her 38-year-old starter and delivered many a loaf to grateful family, friends and neighbors. A lover of music, literature and theater, Dianne will be missed by her many friends and extended family. A Memorial Service will be held at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Saturday November 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to support Winchester Thurston School (555 Morewood Avenue, Pittsburgh 15232); Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania (933 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh 15222) or the American Civil Liberties Union (249 Fort Pitt Boulevard, Pittsburgh 15222.
