Michael J. "Mike" Diebold, age 75, U.S. Army veteran, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, formerly of Oak Park, IL and Elgin, IL, passed away, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Alden Valley Ridge Rehab in Bloomingdale, IL. He was born on July 22, 1950, in Chicago, IL.
Beloved father of Melissa (Boris) Vald of Glen Ellyn, IL and Courtney (Scott) Pientka of Copperhill, TN, adored grandfather of McKenzie and Brighton Vald, devoted son of the late Donald and Charlotte (née Sullivan) Diebold, dear brother of Donald Diebold of Scottsdale, AZ, Terrence (Mary) Diebold of Downers Grove, IL and Steve (Sharon) Diebold of Plainfield, former spouse of Cynthia (James) Webb of Downers Grove, IL, fond cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.
Mike grew up in Oak Park, IL, attended St. Lucy Catholic School, St. Joseph High School in Westchester, IL and was a 1968 graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1970, stationed in South Korea and was employed as a salesman in the roofing industry for many years. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid trap shooter.
A celebration of Mike's life is being planned for Spring 2026.
Interment will be private.
