Kenneth Allen Diebold, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 13, 2025, with his daughter Cindy by his side. She provided care for him during the final weeks of his life.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 9, 1948, to the late Robert John and Hettie Mae Allen Diebold.
Kenny was a 1966 graduate of Flaget High School. He was drafted into the United States Army, serving from 1969-1971, and was a longtime member of AMVETS Post 61. He was a retired Sprinkler Fitter and member of the Sprinkler Fitter Union Local 669. He was a devoted fan of the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and Football. He also enjoyed spending time sitting out on his patio drinking a Bud Light.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis Diebold; and his sister, Joyce Hardin.
Survivors include his daughters, Cindy and Stacy Diebold; step-children, Stephanie Newton (Jay) and Doug Young (Margaret); grandchildren, Michael, Alyssa, Chelsea, and Alexis; great grandchildren, Daylin, Bryson, Sage, and Soren; and siblings, Roberta Pratt, Candy Weilbaker, and Janice Geary (Jerry), along with a host of other dear family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40291, with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 1-8pm Tuesday, June 24, 2025 and 12pm until time of service Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the funeral home.
