Uncle Tommy was the most loving man. He was a good uncle too. Uncle Tommy always knew how to put a smile on your face. And laughter filled the room. Uncle Tommy I miss you. You will always, always be in my heart!

And God looked down on all that he had created and thought I need a kind, gentle soul,
So God made Tom;
And God looked down and saw a damsel in distress,
So God made Tom;
And God looked down and saw two young boys in need of a father,
So God made Tom;
And God looked down and saw a baby girl in need of a special Pawpaw,
So God made Tom;
And God looked down and saw a barbershop quartet in need of a singer,
So God made Tom;
And God looked down and saw Tom and said “You've done good my son”
And God took Tom home with him.

Tommy was a great guy. Always jovial. He did something few men would do. He helped to raise and support kids that weren't his. He loved them as his own. Anyone that came to his house was welcomed with open arms and made to feel like part of the family. Ruth was out in the kitchen making fresh cookies and sandwiches for everyone that was there. We would always sneak a bite or two for Sport as we went down the street to Oakland Park to go fishing.

My childhood memories reflect all the fun you brought to us children and all the family, young and old at the family get-togethers, Uncle Tommy. My family grew up in Brownwood Texas, and we would celebrate the holidays at 905 2nd Street where Tommy grew up. Like himself, his mother and father (our grandparents) and sisters Georgia and Sue were also musically inclined. Back then we enjoyed family games, such as dominos and cards, story telling, and bible reading. Tommy was especially kind to us children. He was an exceptional storyteller and singer. I remember the singing and especially the caroling at Christmas. We will miss you Uncle Tommy!
