Matt Mills Obituary
Mr. Mills was based in Virginia Beach, Va., and had been a Navy SEAL for 14 years.
He was a member of the SEAL unit that killed Osama bin Laden more than three months ago, but none who died Saturday took part in the bin Laden mission.
Mr. Mills had just gone to Afghanistan after returning from his honeymoon with his wife, Keri, a little more than a month ago, his cousin Tina Mills Cunningham of Arlington said.

Having served in Iraq its always sad to hear of a fallen BROTHER. Especially one with the fighting spirit to even take on the selfless undertaking of being "special forces". Many play the video games and watch the movies and think they have a clue[believe me there is no pause button not "CUTS" on the battle field]. To a true American hero I render one final HUAH!!!! Your sacrifice for what ever one consider to be free [FREEDOM] shall never be forgotten! And to the family, my condolences for your lose and although things may seem bleek now, keep your faith strong in knowing that the lords army just became that more substantial. Few families can say they had a true to life hero in their family!

It was an honor to have known Matt. Our group of friends was unique and he stood out above all in high school. I did not know Matt, but I just wanted to say how proud I am of him for serving our country. I know the Navy Seals are a pretty amazing group! I have 3 nephews in the USMC, 2 of them have been to both Iraq and Afghanistan. I worried about them every minute they were away. I cannot find words to express my sorrow for you, but I felt compelled to say something, to let you know that Matt did not die in vain. God bless Matt and his family, and God bless America.

My condolonces go out to Mr. Mills family. This Hero, along with his teammates, went unselfishly, in to hostile territory to aid fellow soldiers that were in danger. He was part of the most elite organization in the world. Over his stellar Navy career, he mad untold sacrifices. His ultimate sacrifice, along with that of his teammates, will not be forgotten.
