Charles Denney Obituary

DENNEY Charles Edward Denney, 76, of London OH, formerly of Grove City, OH, made peace with this world on Sunday, 21 December 2008. Born 23 July 1932 in Columbus, OH, he was the only child of Edward C. Denney and Lucille V. (Bissinger) Denney, who preceded him in death. He was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Capitol Manufacturing Co., Columbus/West Jefferson, OH for 39 1/2 years. Chuck was a most proud lifetime member of the Claylick Bowhunters; Ross County Bowhunters; Ohio Bowhunters' Assn (#1448); and the Ohio Society of Traditional Archers. Mr. Denney is preceded in death by his first wife Darlene Fae (Crawford) Denney, as well as his parents and grandparents. (Jamie) Denney; and step-son, Chad W. (Amie) Frush; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Roberta Jean (Hammond) Graham, Everett, PA: 4 brothers-in-law and their families; cousin, Betty (Clark) Hill, Columbus, OH; numerous nieces and nephews throughout OH, PA, and KY with Linda (John) Weist, Everett, PA down to Cassady Ruth Chadwell, Columbus, OH; and his "Sweet Thing"-Flora Chadwell, 98 years of age, Grandmom and "Aunt" Connie Carmack in Englewood, FL. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, 28 December 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 Garfield Ave., London, OH with a memorial service held at 11 a.m. Monday, 29 December 2008. The service will be preceded by an hour of visitation. Services will be conducted by Mr. Gary Conley of the Christian Bowhunters of America. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery with a USMC Color guard. In lieu of flowers, Chuck would like to request that donations be made to the following: OSTA Youth Bow Program, c/o Paul Knisley, 6799 Old Tarlton Rd, Circleville, OH 43113; or Bow Education c/o Ohio Bowhunters' Assn, c/o Cheryl Leffman, Pres., 17958 Miles Rs SE, Newark, OH 43055; Mark Twain Lake Disabled Deer Hunt, c/o Bob Kendrick, 24 Griffith CR, Monroe City, MO 63456. Services are under the direction of the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, London. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com. Chuck asks that all "remember me with smiles and laughter" for that is how I will remember you: and if you cannot do that, do not remember me at all." Enjoy life to the fullest!

Dear Janet,
Your father always had a smile on his face and was enjoyable to be around. He made stopping and picking you up a nice time and I always felt welcomed. He loved you so very much and always wanted the best for you.

To Chuck's Sons & Daughter,
We were sad to hear about your dad. He was a great man and a special friend to the Roy Miller family. When our family got together on Christmas day, we spent some time sharing our stories about your dad. We hope your memories of your dad will be a comfort to your and your families.

Our prayers are with you all.

I am so sorry to hear about Chuck. He was a very determined person and lived his live doing what he liked to do. I am sorry I am unable to be there but I missed so much work when Gary was sick that I can't take off to be there. You sure have my sympathy. God Bless
