1974 - 2016

Gott Christopher M. Gott, age 41, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 27, 2016. He was born July 15, 1974 in Erie, PA, son of the late John H. Gott and Mary A. Kowalik, who survives. Chris graduated from McDowell High School in Erie and attended Erie Institute of Technology. He received an Associate degree in Applied Science from Columbus State Community College. Chris was a technician with Alcatel Lucent USA Inc. for the past ten years. A devoted son and brother, he will be dearly missed by his mother, Mary Kowalik, of Erie, PA; brother, Jonathan Gott, Lancaster, PA; sisters, Rebecca Gott, of Poughkeepsie, NY and Jessica Davis, of Austin, TX; nieces and nephew, Emma, Becca and Peter; other relatives and Chris' girlfriend, Charissa Bare. Chris was very quick witted and truly had a kind and happy disposition with never a negative word for anyone. Chris's passion was working out and eating healthy. As a teen, he was always very thin until he discovered Joe's Gym (Erie, PA) and subsequently transformed himself; even winning trophies in weight lifting. An amazingly talented classical guitarist, he played with skill, passion, and his signature humility. Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. where the family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday.
