Christopher Jeffrey Inboden, 38, of Huntersville, entered into the presence of the Lord on March 3, 2021. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 16 years and best friend Taylor (Easton) and two much-loved sons, Mason Jeffrey and Trace Jacob. He is survived by his parents, Scott W (Buzz) and Deborah O. Inboden of Lewis Center, Ohio; two brothers, Tad Michael Inboden (Nicole) of Denver, Colorado, and David Scott Inboden (Emily); two sisters, Joy Rebekah Morrissey (William) of Beaconsfield, England, and Karis Lynne Inboden-Bash (Andrew) of Columbus, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandparents R. Scott (Nancy) Inboden of Fernandina Beach, FL. Staff Sergeant Christopher J. Inboden "BO" joined the Army in June of 2001. He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, GA. After completing Airborne School and Ranger Indoctrination Program, Chris was assigned to Alpha Company 3d Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served in various positions from Rifleman to Squad Leader in 3rd Platoon Alpha Company. Military Education included The Ranger Course, Basic NCO Course, Jumpmaster Course, SERE, and The Warrior Leaders Course. Chris deployed eight times to both Iraq and Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terrorism. His awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal for Valor, Bronze Star Service Medal, Purple Heart, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (2ndAward), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantryman's Badge, Parachutist Badge with Combat Jump Star. Chris' love for Jesus, his wife, his children, his family and his commitment to never give up in the face of adversity molded him into a man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. Chris was a Ranger who, in or out of uniform, truly did "lead the way." The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 11:00 AM, at the Elevation Church - Lake Norman in Cornelius. The visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 6:00-8:00 PM, at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. The interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date. James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family and obituary lovingly written by the family.

There are no words that adequately convey our deep sadness over your loss of your son Buzz and Debbie, your husband Taylor, and your father Mason and Trace. You all are in our thoughts so much and we are praying that God will carry you in this difficult time and sustain you through the remaining years until you are once again reunited with him. The Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child.
