1924 - 2017
Daisy B. Scales, age 92, Sunrise, December 17, 1924. Sunset and departure from this earthly life August 18, 2017 at OSU East Hospital. Graduate of Central High School, Columbus, Ohio, attended Franklin University, Aenon Bible College, and Columbus State Community College. Retired employee of Columbus City Schools and Franklin County Children Services. Former member of Union Grove Baptist Church for over 40 years and Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith for over 25 years, and served as an Ordained Minister of the PAW. Previously served as a Volunteer Visitation Chaplain at Riverside Hospital. Currently a member of Rhema Christian Center, where she served in many capacities as a Licensed Minister. Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Karen Y. Scales; sons, Apostle La Fayette (Theresa) Scales and Phillip O. Scales; grandchildren, Jonathan (Nataria) Scales, Yolonda T. (Marshall) Ziglar, Christopher, Yolanda (Tyrone) Hopson, and Deidrice Garrett; great grandchildren, Matthew, Anita J., Lillie P. Hopson of Huntsville, Ala., Marquise L. Scales, Mia N. Scales, Whitney M. Garrett, Darius M. Garrett, Kaila M. Hall, Earnest Hall, and Jordan M. Hal; great grandchildren, JaNiya M. Garrett and Rah'Jaii M. Garrett; favorite niece, Mattie Michael, St. Albans, NY: other nieces, nephews, and many friends. Celebration Of Life, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Rhema Christian Center, 2100 Agler Road, Columbus, OH. Viewing will begin 9 am followed by service at 11 am. Hi,im a cousin from charleston sc i just found out today of Daisy passing! i never met Daisy but spoke to her a few times between 2009-2015 all my life I've heard abt her but we never knew where she lived until talking to my cousin Deborah i got Daisy's num from her. My Condolences to Apostle Scales (Chief) and the entire Scales family. I received so so many Pearl of Wisdom from Mother Scales when I was working at the Front Desk at RCC. She was so funny and always encouraged me; to Always keep Christ First and all will fall into place. She is right! Her insight and humor will always be a memory in my heart. I will miss her dearly. I am going to miss her style! Mother Scales was too sharp, every Sunday! Mother Scales left us with such a Legacy and Role Model to follow. It was such an honor to have known her. May God comfort all of you in the days ahead and his Mercy and Peace guide you for the rest of your life. Blessings and love to you all!

My most heartfelt condolences and love are sincerely extended to the entire Scales family. As a former member of Rhema Christian Center, I was afforded the special opportunity to foster a personal wonderful relationship with Her Grace, Mother Daisy Scales. She was such a powerful, integral, sweet, and mighty Woman of God, who was adorned in grace, and walked in upright true righteousness. I remember spending both personal time and breaking bread with the Scales family at both the homes of Mother Scales & Apostle Scales during the Holidays. She was the true essence of a real Lady, who always stepped into the House of God, in only a way that she could, wearing her beautiful fashions, not to mention her floor length furs during the winter seasons. As these astronomical memories race across the recesses of my mind my heart is warmed and my grief is comforted. May the God of peace, comfort, strength and grace continue to envelop the Scales family during your season of humanistic loss, but spiritual gain! Grace and peace be unto you.
