Daniel James Dublin, III, age 69, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home after a long illness. He was born February 9, 1948 to the late Daniel and LaVinia (Healey) Dublin, II in Newark, Ohio. Dan attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and Akron University in Akron, Ohio. He worked for the IRS from 1977 to 1992 before he started Colonial Income Tax in Westerville, Ohio. Dan met Rose Kanyuch at a church youth group dance when they were only 15 years old. That night he told his mother he met the girl he was going to marry. He left her for a short time to serve his country in the US Navy from 1965 until 1967 on the Lyman K. Swensen DD729 Destroyer. On October 26, 1968 he married the love of his life, Rose Kanyuch. They had three children and were married for 47 years before Rose passed away on July 31, 2015. They were only separated a short time before he joined her to rest in the loving arms of our heavenly father. Dan leaves behind many friends in addition to his family. Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Joyce (Dublin) Harrison. He is survived by loving children, Daniel (Katonda) Dublin, IV, Michelle (David) LaRoche and Anna (Josh) Childs; siblings, Sharon Karnes, Jean Gerardi, Jan (Wade) Baker, Guy (Elizabeth) Dublin and Rhonda Dublin; brother-in-law, Frank Harrison, Sr.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a large extended family. Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Fr. Theodore K. Sill, Celebrant.
