One of my many memories of nightmare is,in the mid 80's I was driving long haul semi's. Darrell allowed me to crash at his house many times,I didn't have a place because I was only in town a day or two a month. Darrell had a international scout 4 wheel drive. An loved putting it to the test like all his toys he ever had. One day I get a call from Darrell, I'm at his house. He says Rick I need you to bring your semi down here to the pit they called it. A vacant lot at the time off of Hamilton road an I 70. It was kinda a swampy area. It's where the buit that hotel with the indoor water park. I'm like ok you got a strap? He said he had a rope. He was lucky because it was winter an the ground was Dry an frozen. Probably the only reason I could get close enough to where he was stuck. An he buried it in some deep rat's that had iced over. The rut's were so deep his undercarriage bottomed out. So I position my tractor close an he tied a 1 inch diameter nylon rope to his scout an the frame of my semi. Darrell got in the scout an gave me the go ahead. I put my tractor in granny gear an engaged my interlock axels on. I slowly engaged the clutch an it began to crawl, that rope stretched an stretched about 25feet the whole time Darrell an I have eye contact in my side mirror. He's waving his hand in a keep moving motion. All of a sudden that scout jumped out of the rut's like a bullfrog jumping off a Lilly pad. I'll never forget the look on Darrell's face as it jumped. I thought it might of broke his neck. We all laughed to tears after the fact. He told me he was beginning to think the rope might break an fly back an break his windshield an smack him in the face. But we all knew Darrell he had no fears. That's just 1 of many.

A BRIEF CANDLE BOTH ENDS BURNING
AND ENDLESS MILE A BUS WHEEL TURNING
A FRIEND TO SHARE THE LONESOME TIME
A HANDSHAKE AND A SIP OF WINE
SAY IT LOUD AND LET IT RING
THAT WE'RE ALL PART OF EVERYTHING
THE FUTURE, PRESENT AND THE PAST
FLY ON PROUD BIRD, YOU'RE FREE AT LAST
