David was an awesome PAPA, I know that he will be forever talked about to our kids. His humor and love will always help us through the hard times. I will miss him so much, he was like a second dad to me! Love you Dad!

David was a very devoted person. As his nephew, there are many memories I have of David. One of which is more vivid this time of year. Some of you may remember an annual Halloween party that the Minnich's would have at "Rockytop". David was the devoted tender to the chili cauldron and fire that heated it. He was always one of the first people to the party early in the morning to help with set-up and would stay there 'till the wee hours offering chili as well as the inevitable witty comment to each party-goer. During what will turn out to be the last week of David's life he mentioned that he would enjoy another Halloween party at Rockytop. Not referring specifically to this year or later, his optimism and willingness to fight was very apparent. This is another testament to David's dedication to his family and overcoming his bout with cancer. David was strong-willed and at the same time, sensitive, supportive and never selfish. As his children (my cousins) will agree, the last thing he would want is any pity or mourning over his passing. David will be deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts, thoughts and memories.

It's hard to put into words what David meant to me. Unfortunately, we did not stay as close as we should have. David, Scott Speelman, Jack Boehringer and I shared some good times in high school(didn't we Marj and Louie)?
David had such a wonderful sense of humor!
Fortunately, our time apart will be short, we will see him again in heaven, so don't give up faith.
