David Strausbaugh Obituary

STRAUSBAUGH David N. "Papaw" Strausbaugh, 60, of Plain City, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Riverside Hospital. He was a supervisor for the City of Columbus Fleet Management Crew and a tax professional for H&R Block. He was a 1969 graduate of Fairbanks High School and received his Bachelors Degree from Ferris State College in Big Rapids, MI. He loved to travel with his family in the "Airstream" and enjoyed spending time with his buddies at the Atlanta Speedway. David was born July 30, 1951 in Columbus to the late Robert and Monna Webb Strausbaugh. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Robert D. "Rod" Strausbaugh, Steven W. Strausbaugh; and an uncle and aunt, Judge Dean and Betty Strausbaugh. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Wendy; a daughter, Andie; granddaughters, Ajia and Zoe; his friend and former wife, Sally (Ron) Stine; sisters-in-law, Kay Strausbaugh and Mary Strausbaugh; a niece, Sarah; a nephew, Doug; cousins, Ann, John, Chet and Carol; and dear friends, Daniela, Ron and Joan Smith. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, at the INGRAM FUNERAL HOME, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, Ohio, with a service of remembrance at 8 p.m. Rev. Richard Ellsworth will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's charity of choice in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to ingramfuneral.com.

Dave was a true gentleman. His great sense of humor and generosity helped us all get through many stressful years at H & R Block. He will be sorely missed.

So sorry to hear about Dave. He was always so helpful to me at H&B Block and such a gentleman. He sure loved his Dad and during Tax Season this past year he told us a lot of stories about him. I will really miss him. My prayers and thoughts to the family.
