Deanna J. Hedges, 79, of Johnstown, died Saturday morning, September 15, 2018 at the Pataskala Oaks Nursing Home. She was born October 14, 1938 in Nevada to the late Myron L. and Isabelle (Willey) Tobey, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William A. Hedges, they were married September 28, 1957 in Adrian, Michigan and he died July 7, 2006, also preceding her in death was her sister Phyllis Phelps. Deanna was a 1956 graduate of the Prospect High School. She retired in 1998 after 20 years as a secretary at the Mt. Carmel Hospital. Deanna was a member of the Church of the Ascension Catholic Church in Johnstown, active member of the Red Hat Society, where she served as the Queen of the Johnstown chapter, former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, had been the travel coordinator for the J.A.S., had volunteered at the Kelton House in Columbus leading tours and in earlier years was a Girl Scout leader. Surviving are her children, John (Karen) Hedges of Pataskala and Janice (Bruce) Fennig of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Paige and Paulette Fennig; and brother-in-law, Ken Phelps of Plattsburgh, New York. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11 am at the York Cemetery, a Memorial mass will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Ascension in Johnstown. Rev. Mark Ghiloni will officiate. Memorial gifts may be made to the Columbus Zoo at 4850 Powell Rd, Powell, OH 43065. Condolences and remembrances may be expressed at www.stofcheck-ballinger.com
